Freebird Survivors Foundation Inc.

Supporting musicians and touring crew who survive plane crashes — with financial help and someone in their corner.

What We Do

When a plane goes down on tour, the world moves on. We don't.

Support Survivors

Crash survivors carry long-term physical, financial, and emotional costs the world rarely sees. We connect them with the practical help they need — because surviving the crash shouldn't mean surviving alone.

Tell Every Story

When a plane goes down, the world remembers the headliners. The sound engineers, road crews, and technicians on board get forgotten. We make sure every name on the manifest is remembered.

Build Wider Support

We connect donors, advocates, and supporters with musicians and crew who need them — across the music industry and beyond. A community that shows up for people who give everything to their craft.

Where We Came From

In October 1977, a chartered plane carrying Lynyrd Skynyrd crashed in Mississippi. Six people were killed. Twenty survived — musicians and touring crew alike — and most were left to find their own way through the aftermath with little support and less acknowledgment.

The Freebird Survivors Foundation Inc. was built on that story. Our mission extends to every musician and crew member who has survived — or will survive — a crash while doing what they love.

Help Someone Today

Every donation goes directly toward supporting musicians and crew members carrying the weight of a crash — medical costs, financial hardship, and the knowledge that someone still cares.
